President’s Message

On behalf of the BFCC Board, I would like to welcome our participants, members, and supporters to the Bichon Frise Club of Canada’s 23rd National Specialty. I am delighted that we are holding our Specialty in Atlantic Canada in conjunction with the Halifax Kennel Club…this is a landmark event for the BFCC as it is the first Specialty our club has held in Atlantic Canada!!

Our Board and members have worked effectively together - planning, fundraising and keeping people updated - to make this a very special event…my special thanks goes to Daria Edgecombe, Elizabeth Buffett and Sharyn Lucas, our 'on the ground’ Atlantic members, who proposed and supported the event. A shout out to Lee Steeves, HKC show chair and Nancy Downing, show secretary, who were wonderful to work with.

We are thrilled to have such highly renowned judges - many thanks to Raymond Yurick for accepting the assignment to judge our Specialty, and to Lori-Ann Fischer for accepting our Sweeps judging assignment.

Our sincere thanks to friends, members, and sponsors who have supported our trophy fund and fundraisers.

We are thrilled that several bichon supporters are travelling from afar to attend our event, which is encouraging to see.

It is extremely important for responsible breeders and breed fanciers to support pure bred dog

clubs in these times… (especially after the undesirable impacts of the pandemic on the dog world).

The BFCC is thrilled to highlight our lovely breed - the Bichon Frise!!!!

Wishing everyone a fabulous Labour Day show weekend in Halifax !!!
